Magnolia Brantley, age 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at United Hospital Systems – Kenosha Campus.
Born in Coahoma County, MS on December 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Nora L. (Broadnax) Johnson, she moved to Kenosha in 1977.
On June 11, 1949 in Rome, MS, she was married to Leward Brantley.
She was a member of New Brighter Day Baptist Church.
Magnolia loved children. For many years she provided childcare to the neighborhood children. Her love of her faith and family meant the world to her. She also enjoyed spending time quilting.
She is survived by 10 children, Leroy Brantley Sr., Ethel Johnson, L.C. Brantley, Leon (Karen) Brantley, Margie (Alan) Owens, and Eddie Lee Brantley; Charlean (Howard) Brantley, Lee Jr. (SaMyra) Brantley, and Edna Taylor; Robert (Kim) Brantley; her brother, Ezekiel (Geraldine) Johnson; a sister, Liz Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Jordan and Marie Grosse and a brother-in-law, Jim Mullen; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leward Brantley; three sons, twins, Terry and Jerry, and Jimmie Lee; four brothers; and a sister.
