Craig S. Hessefort, 54, of Kenosha died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, following a short battle with a very rare recurrence of cancer. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Craig was born on July 25, 1964 to Susan (nee: Lindemann) and the late John “Jack” Hessefort. He attended local schools graduating from Tremper High School in 1982. He served in the Army National Guard from May 1987 until he was honorably discharged in January 1998 with a rank of Staff Sergeant E6. On July 25, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Lisa Marano. Craig was employed at Hessefort Service for 38 years with 20 of them as a third generation owner. He had a real passion for working on his customer’s vehicles, and it showed every day. He always went that extra mile to make sure his customers were happy; never giving up until the job was done. Sadly, he had no choice but to take an early retirement in September of this year due to his illness, ending a legacy his grandfather Albert Hessefort started in 1951. When Craig wasn’t working, he loved going up north to his cabin to hunt or fish, but most importantly, spending time with his family. Craig also enjoyed going to car shows as well as, going to watch auto racing. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packer fan. Craig was a member of the Swedish American Club, Italian American Club and the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. Craig will always be remembered for his one of a kind laugh; his kind and loving heart, and always being there for his family and friends. Craig is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lisa; his mother, Susan Hessefort; his daughters, Alyse (Dan) McBride and Amber (Manny) Ramirez; his grandchildren, Lawrence, Sarah, Erik, Anthony and Bryce Craig Ramirez who will make his appearance in March of 2019. He is further survived by his sisters, Julie (Fritz) Hueller, Jill (Frank) Mategrano, a brother, Keith (Heather) Hessefort, sisters in law, Kristine (John) Tainter and Susan (Gary) Hoglund; a brother in law, Frank (Debbie) Marano; father in law, Frank A. Marano and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and friends. Along with his father, Craig was preceded in death by his mother in law, Harriet (Scottie) Marano. Craig’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Neil Shepler and all his staff as well as Hospice Alliance, Inc. and staff for the excellent care they provided him.
