Earleen Cooper, age 85 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her residence. Born on July 28, 1932 in Mississippi, she was the daughter of Leslie and Gertrude (Hering) Pruitt. They both have preceded her in death. Earleen was united in marriage to James D. Cooper. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2007. She was employed and retired from AMC/Chrysler Motors. Earleen was a member of the U.A.W. Local #72 Retirees. One of Earleen’s greatest enjoyments in life was her sister, Martha. They were inseparable and many happy memories were made together. Her biggest joy in life, however, was her children, grandchildren and most recently her great granddaughter, “Athena.” She was so proud of each of her children and would show support and unconditional love to each of them. Her family especially her grandchildren, were her world. Earleen enjoyed socializing with her many friends. She enjoyed working in her yard and fixing things around her home. She was a jack of all trades and could repair almost anything. Earleen enjoyed cooking her southern meals, especially her cornbread, homemade biscuits and gravy. Everyone always knew when they would visit Earleen that they would have plenty of homemade delicious food to eat. Earleen had a special place in her heart for her fur-baby, “Benji”. He was obsessed with her and protected and loved her more than anything else. She would say if you’re uncomfortable around my dog, I’m happy to lock you in the other room when you come over. Benji was always number one. We have comfort now that we know God has taken her into his hands. She will always be watching over all of us. She was our pillar to our world. Earleen is survived by her three children, Danny (Tina) Cooper, Donna Cooper and Denise Stein; her two sisters, Martha Chandler and Evelyn Gilliland; her ten grandchildren; her 20 great grandchildren; her beautiful great-great granddaughter; her loving companion, Benji; and many loving nieces, nephews, special relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dapthander Schneeberger; her brother, Carl Pruitt; her grandson, Rodney Turner, Jr.; and her special companion, Ralph Bonn. Earleen’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Aurora at Home Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. |
