Audrey G. Scott, age 87, of Kenosha died peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Brookside Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 22, 1927 in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of the late Ewald and Mary (Sitz) Zettler. Audrey attended Racine Schools and was a graduate of Horlick High School.
On February 15, 1947 at Holy Community Lutheran Church, Racine, she was united in marriage to Donald P. “Scotty” Scott. After their marriage they made Kenosha their home. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 2002.
Audrey was employed with Kenosha County for many years. She began her career with the District Attorney’s Office, the Family Court System, and retired from the Department of Aging. Previously, she was employed at American State Bank as a teller.
She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church and a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as an usher, greeter and was a former Sunday School Teacher. Audrey was a Girl Scout leader and member of the McKinley Jr. High School P.T.A., volunteered at Kenosha Hospital and Medical Center, and served on the board of the Kenosha Public Library during the administration of Mayor Paul Saftig, and was a member of the Kenosha Legal Secretaries Association. Audrey, along with her sister, co-founded the Racine Area Geriatric Assessment Center.
Audrey enjoyed needlepoint, traveling and reading. After making Brookside her home, Audrey couldn’t get enough of Bingo and immensely loved her casino trips.
She is survived by her three daughters, Linda (Fred) Duprey, Barbara (Jerry) Zeller and Janet (Steven Klemz) Scott; her five grandchildren, Stacy (Jef) Kazimer, Laura (Ryan) Townsend, Sam, Karina, and Peter Klemz; and her two great grandsons, Evan and Owen Townsend.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, William Bertzyk; her sister, Loraine Boldus; and her two great grandsons, Charlie and Dylan.
