She was born on August 29, 1937 in Lillesand, Norway and was the daughter of the late Gustave and Helga (Olsen) Normark. Until she was in the 8th grade, Inger received her education in Oslo, Norway. She moved to Racine and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Horlick High School. Inger continued her education and received her nursing degree from Gateway Technical College. On July 30, 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to James R. Ewings. They were blessed with 32 years of marriage. Sadly, Jim preceded her in death in 1992. Inger was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for 44 years. She was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital for three years, St. Catherine’s Hospital for 38 years and Kenosha Hospital for 1 ½ years. Throughout her life, Inger valued her faith and was a member of Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, Women’s Aglow Fellowship of Kenosha and was a former member of the Ladies Bible Group of First Assembly of God Church. Inger was very active and she spent a vast majority of her time helping others. She volunteered with the Kenosha Public Museum, Kenosha Senior Citizens Center, Kenosha Action Council and the Kenosha Soup Kitchen. Although Inger enjoyed spending time with her family at their home on the Chippewa River, her fondest memories were made worldwide traveling with her closest friends. Inger also enjoyed her fur babies, Coco, Shep, Oscar and Oliver. Her warm smile and laughter will be remembered by her brother-in-law, Joel (Barbara) Ewings; her nephews, Adam (Laura) Ewings and Todd (Kerry) Ewings; her niece, Gina (Garrett) Anderson; her great nephews, Tanner and Trenton Ewings; her great niece, Paige Anderson; and many loving friends.
