Doug was born and raised in Kenosha where he attended local schools, graduated from Bradford High School, and attended U.W. Parkside.
In 1991 Doug married his wife, Joanie, and shortly after began his first career as a stay at home dad for seventeen years. Together with his wife he raised five amazing children: Kayla, Dougie Jr., Zachary, Gabbie and Kane. He has a daughter-in-law, Sarah and a soon to be son-in-law, Zak. The newest addition to his family is a goldendoodle puppy, Loki. He brings additional joy and smiles everyday to the Palmer family.
Doug has been employed part time for KUSD since 2008 and Piasecki Funeral home since 2015 where he serves as a member of the removal team. He enjoys both jobs as they are rewarding and allow him to serve people in the community. Both places are like an extended family.
When Doug is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing when the weather permits and playing darts. Doug is an avid Packer fan, season ticket holder and active member of Saint Anne Catholic Church.
