Born on April 18, 1936 in Starkville, MS, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Caroline (Richardson) Doss, Sr.
On April 21, 1956 he was united in marriage to Fannie P. Bedford.
Woodrow was employed as a Supervisor with AMC/ Chrysler for over thirty years. Following his career at Chrysler, he worked at both Walmart and Auto Zone.
He was a founding Trustee and longtime member of Second Baptist Church.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Fannie; four children Kathy (Salvatore) Curtrano, Michael (Christine) Doss, David Doss, and Precon (Irby) Doss-Alexander; his five grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Isaiah, Job, and Marcus; and his great grandson, Xavier. He is further survived by three sisters, Earleen Mc Allister, Nora Brooks, and Dora Mc Williams, and a brother Carl Doss.
In addition to his parents, Woodrow was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Fisher, Julia Vaughn, and Lula Johnson, and two brothers, Robert Doss, and John Doss.
We cannot keep from wondering
No matter how we try
And in our sad and troubled hearts
We keep on asking why?
The reason is hidden somewhere
In the pattern God has planned
We must believe and trust Him and some day
We will understand why
Service Date June 4, 2016
A Home Going Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 3925 32nd Avenue. Private interment will take place in Green Ridge Cemetery.
