A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on April 1, 1928, and was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Ida (Serpe) Greco. He attended Jefferson and Grant Elementary Schools, McKinley Jr. High School and was a 1946 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. Bill also attended U.W.-Madison.
He served our country in the Army National Guard from 1948 to 1951.
On September 9, 1950, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, he was married to Dorothy Dielmann. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1976. On October 6, 1979 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church he was married to Delores Boiking.
Bill was employed in the planning and pre-production departments of AMC/Chrysler. After 34 years of service, he retired in 1985.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, the Italian American Club and the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. He was also a member of the 1946 Joe Andrea Breakfast Club and was a former member of the AMC Supervisors Club.
Bill was an avid Green Bay Packer and he was fortunate to have attended more than 300 games. He also enjoyed golfing, dancing, and taking trips to Las Vegas.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Delores R. Greco; his two children, Thomas Greco and Nancy Zimmerman; his step-daughter, Barbara (Milan) Sucevich; five grandchildren, Michael (Missy) Sucevich, Renee (Kevin) Scharping, Chris (Amy Dawursk) Sucevich, Bill (Amy Santiago) Zimmerman and Kyle (Ellie) Sucevich; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Joseph Greco.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Dorothy Greco, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Greco; and his son-in-law, Scott Zimmerman.
Bill’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Aurora at Home Hospice, and Bill and Delores’ many caregivers, family and friends for the unconditional love and support they gave.
Service Date October 13, 2017
Funeral Services honoring Bill’s life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 5100 22nd Avenue. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
