Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintWilliam E. Dissen, age 85 of Kenosha, was called to his Heavenly Home on Friday, October 31, 2014, with his family by his side at Brookside Care Center.
Born in Bovey, MN on August 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Rev. Victor H. and Lydia C. (Baese) Dissen. He was a graduate of Beach High School in North Dakota.
From June, 1951 until June, 1953 during the Korean War, he honorably served in the U.S. Army in the Battalion Railroad.
After serving in the Army, for two years in Minneapolis, MN, he attended telegrapher school for the railroad.
On September 10, 1955 in Flint, MI, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Jacobi.
For 34 years, Bill was a dedicated employee with Outokumpu American Brass.
Bill’s faith was an important part of his life. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Bill took great pride volunteering for many church functions and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. He enjoyed sharing his opinion in the Kenosha Voice of the People.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Dissen; his two children, Donald (Joyce) Dissen and Diana Dissen; his two grandchildren, Duane (Lori) Dissen and Deanna Moffet; and his twin great grandchildren, Gavin and Logan Dissen.
Bill is further survived by four brothers, Martin (Patricia) Von Dissen, and Walter, Rev. David (Judy), and Fred (Margo) Dissen; and a sister, Eunice Dissen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, James Dissen; and two sisters, Elizabeth Dissen and Elaine at birth.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2026 22nd Avenue. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
