Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintWilliam E. “Bill” Knutsen, Sr., age 81 of Kenosha, died on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Parkside Manor, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Moss, Norway on December 3 1932, he was the son of the late Karl and Eva R. (Andersen) Knutsen. He moved to our area from Norway in the early 1950’s. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy.
On November 13, 1954, he was united in marriage to Angeline F. Falbo. She preceded him in death in 1995. On May 11, 1996 at St. Therese Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Billie Lou Jaskolski.
For over 20 years, he was employed with J.I. Case as a truck driver, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #710. Bill was an avid soccer and hockey fan. In his younger years he played semi-pro hockey with the Montreal Canadians. He also coached the Kenosha Blue Wings. Bill loved fishing with his grandchildren, woodworking and traveling. He always felt right at home traveling down the open roads. Bill was an excellent story teller and he was always good with embellishing them.
He is survived by his wife, Billie; his daughter, Karen (William) Symonds of Maryville, TN; his two sons, William (Cathy) Knutsen of Kenosha and Richard (Jeanne Savelle) Knutsen of Smyrna, GA; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Haldis Eriksson of Sweden; and a special nephew, Tommy (Ingrid) Knutsen.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Angeline; he was preceded in death by three brothers; and six sisters.
A visitation for Bill will be held in All Saints Mausoleum Chapel, 3300 Springbrook Road, Pleasant Prairie on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Hospice Alliance, Inc., 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the girls at Parkside Manor and Hospice Alliance, Inc.; especially Julie and Mayra for the exceptional care they provided.
