1930 – 2018
Viviana (nee: Toteda) Alfano, 87, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Aurora Medical Center.
Born on October 4th, in Mendicino, a Province of Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giusseppe and Maria (Guadio) Toteda. She was educated in Italy and came to Kenosha in 1957.
On September 27, 1953, she married the late Attilio Alfano. Together they had a son, Dean Alfano and two daughters, Cindy Alfano and Susy Lemberger.
Viviana was employed for many years by the Kenosha Unified School District and the Bristol Renaissance Faire.
Viviana was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over fifty years.
Vivian’s hobbies included cooking, baking, traveling, knitting, crocheting, canning, reading and word search puzzles. Viviana was the matriarch of her family and especially enjoyed spending time with and cooking elaborate home-made meals for her family. She also took great pride in spoiling her granddaughters, Lauren and Katherine.
She is survived by her son, Dean Alfano of Mundelein, IL; her two daughters, Cindy (Lesley Frederick) Alfano of Sherman, IL and Susy (Lawrence) Lemberger of Muskego, WI; two loving granddaughters, Lauren and Katherine; best friends, Frank and Mary Surdo and Diana DeRose; and her loving caregiver, Brenda Bednar.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Alfredo; and five sisters, Antonetta, Erminia, Rose, Olivia and Elvira.
Service Date March 9, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Vivian’s life will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 beginning with a prayer service at 11:45 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 7400 39th Avenue. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
