Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintVivian Hilda Kotowski, age 90 of Kenosha, died on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Froedtert South–Kenosha Hospital Campus, with her loving family by her side.
Born on May 10, 1928 in Marshfield, WI, she was the daughter of the late Clifford T. and Hazel L. (Oestreich) Scherr. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Kenosha and she attended local schools.
On September 3, 1949, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Leonard P. Kotowski, Sr. They were married for 67 years. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2016.
In her young years, Vivian was employed as a folder of finished garments with Coopers, Inc. in Kenosha. After the birth of her first child, she loved being a devoted mother and homemaker.
Vivian was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and the former Saint Casimir Catholic Church.
Vivian “Bibs” loved roller skating with her friends at the area roller rinks. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed participating in area leagues. Vivian enjoyed knitting, gardening, baking and polka dancing with Leonard.
She is survived by her two sons, Lenny (Rita) and David Kotowski; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lavern R. Scherr.
Vivian’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at 4 Palmer at Froedtert South-Kenosha Hospital Campus for all the compassion and care they gave her while she was in their care.
Service Date August 31, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Vivian’s life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street. Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery.
