He was born in Kenosha on June 10, 1942 to William Alfred Kexel and Marjorie Stettner Kexel-Knight. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and had proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines.
Vince was well known around Kenosha, having once been the owner of Dawn’s Donuts, and previously employed with Pa’s Pizza, Piggly Wiggly, Peppies, and Keno Cab Company, just to name a few, for many years until his retirement in 2008.
He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband and a remarkable father to his children. His love of gardening and flowers is something that his family will greatly miss, especially the love and care he gave to his Holly Hocks, Peonies, and Cosmos, just to name a few. His excellent sense of humor will be missed by many.
Vince will be dearly missed by his wife of twenty years, Sandra Kay Strelow-Kexel; their two children, Marissa and Alison Kexel; his two children, Tina Kexel-Marten and Kenneth Kexel; two step-children, Elijah and Sarah Strelow; and 10 grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers, Jerry, William, and James “Jimmy” Kexel.
Private services in honor of Vincent were held.
