Vern Everton passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at University Place in West Lafayette, IN.
Born on January 21, 1940 to Vernon Everton Sr and Elsie Everton
He retired after a long career as a salesman in the Steel industry.
Vern was a jokester and an adventurer, a tennis player, and the life of the party. He loved jazz and cigars, travel and martinis. He appreciated good food and good wine. He loved spending summer days by the pool and grilling brats for his family and friends. He loved packing up the RV and hitting the road. But mostly, he was husband, father, stepdad, and grandpa (Pa).
Vern, enjoy your never-ending margaritas on the beach and remember to paint the ceiling beige.
He is survived by his wife, Bronwen Everton of West Lafayette, IN; his children, Steve Everton of Los Angeles, CA and Clayton Everton of Minnetonka, Minnesota; his stepdaughter, Marissa Simons of Lafayette, IN; his grandchildren, Jacob Sosunov, Michael Everton, Dominic Everton, all of Minnetonka, MN and Joel and Reva Simons of Lafayette, IN; his brother, Lee Everton and sister-in-law, Jean Everton both of Loveland, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Everton Sr.; his mother, Elsie Leiting and his stepfather, Elmer Leiting.
Services honoring the life of Vern will be held at a later date.
