He was born September 7, 1941 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to his late parents, Leonard Carl Zielsdorf and Evelyn Doris Zielsdorf, the first of their nine children. He attended Kenosha schools, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1959.
Tom attended McConnell Airline Training School in Minneapolis, Minnesota which led to his 40 plus years career working for Eastern Airlines and Continental Airlines. Tom spent several years in Houston before his retirement from Continental Airlines in February 2002 to spend time traveling with his late wife, Marie Helene.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of twelve years, Carolyn; son Gregory Zielsdorf (Lisa) of Erie, PA; daughter Karen Coxe (Manny) of Austin, TX; brothers Bill (Theresa) of Kenosha; Jon (Kim) of Burlington, WI; Jim Zielsdorf of Kenosha; Les Zielsdorf of Kenosha; Kenny Zielsdorf of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Kay Marotz of Elkhorn, WI; Sue (Richard) Massarini of Marinette, WI; Carole (Tom) Rasmussen of Kenosha; 9 grandchildren; numerous other relatives survive as well as friends. Tom was preceded in death by his late wife Marie Helene in 2002 after 39 years of marriage. His oldest daughter, Deborah Lynn also preceded him in death in 2013.
Service Date July 8, 2016
Funeral services honoring Tom’s life will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7300 39th Ave., Kenosha. Please meet at the church. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
