I will always remember Tom as true character. His disarming sense of humor was infectious. Though sometimes quite argumentative when it came to work-related policies, he would typically flash a big smile afterward. Tom was always considerate and ready to contribute his best effort while helping others. While on a business trip to the area in the late 1980's, Tom invited several of his co-workers (including me) to visit his uncle and aunt at their cabin by a lake in Wisconsin for the weekend. We went fishing, off-roading on quadrunners, swatted lots of mosquitoes, sampled his uncle's homemade maple syrup, and listened to stories about his uncle's hunting trips and exploits during WWII. Tom's aunt prepared hearty meals for the gaggle of visitors. Tom thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the trip as did the rest of us. It was so incredibly gracious of Tom and his aunt and uncle to want to share that experience with us, and I will always recall it fondly. My life was made richer for having known Tom. May God bless his soul and watch over his family.

I joined Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville on July 3, 2000. I was an Education Services Specialist with Navy Campus for 15 years and I knew nothing about recruiting. Tom was one of the five I reached out to. He was a good friend, and he will be missed. My condolences to his family. May God continue to bless you and hold you in the palm of his hand,

Tom Stevenson will be remembered as my colleague and friend for 40 + years. He put family first and always made me feel like a close member. While visiting, I enjoyed his special homemade beverage and Alyceann delicious loaf of bread. What a treat! Tom when you see me on the other side, bring me an ice cold beer. Lord please love, bless and protect this wonderful family.

Tom was a good friend with a whimsical sense of humor, I have a lot of memories but one stands out. It showed what Tom was like and the humor he possessed . On a visit to our new home in Texas we felt we had to entertain Tom to a special treat. Part of our appetizers was prosciutto and we served it with great gusto. Tom asked what was it he just ate. We informed him it was 18 month cured Italian ham. After trying another piece of the thinly sliced ham he paused and said he felt sorry for the Italians as they really did not know what real Ham was and he guessed that is why it was so thinly sliced. I will miss Tom and our email correspondence over the years.
