Tommy G.; as he was affectionately known around Kenosha was born on May 26, 1954, in Waukegan, IL., son of the late Alfred and Marguarite (Morrison) Gironimi. In 1959, the family moved to Kenosha and attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was a proud 1972 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Parkside for a year.
He was a lover of sports, mostly football, basketball, and tennis. Tom lettered in track and cross-country in his freshman year in High School.
After graduation Tommy was employed with Chrysler Motors. He had many friends, was very entertaining and fun to be around. Tommy had the gift of humor all throughout his life and he always wanted to make people feel better, which he truly accomplished (usually with a joke and that unmistakable “Tommy Smile”.)
Tom loved the Lord greatly and would often have deep conversations about God’s Love for us. He relied on his Catholic faith which brought him through any obstacles he faced in his life and was vey thankful for this gift of unending faith.
Tom’s loving sister and best friend, Kathie Stayton also survives him along with her husband, Harold “Punk” Stayton of Racine. He is greatly missed by his many friends, Joe, Vern, Monique, Dean, Kim, Larry, Bill, Linda, Louie and Shad to name a few. He also leaves his cousins, Dennis (Nancy) Drahos of Waterford and Tony (Jan) Drahos of Montana. Also mourning his loss is his niece, Margaret “Meg” (Herchen) Kosterman of Racine along with his great nephews, Reese, Dalton and Lane, his great niece, Scarlett Kathleen and their dad, Bob Kosterman. He so enjoyed watching the kids grow throughout the years and would continue to pray for them in life.
Special thanks go out to Kimberly Brown who was so helpful and understanding of Tom’s needs as his health was failing. You will never be forgotten for the concern and love you showed him and our family. I will see you again, my sweet brother. Rest well and know that the Lord is pleased.
Memorial services for Thomas will be held privately.
