Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintTerry Nighbert, beloved son, father, devoted grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on September 17, 1945, to the late Raymond and Violette (Schutz) Nighbert, and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School.
It was freshman year of high school when he met his sweetheart, Kathleen M. Gaffney. Upon graduation, they started dating and three years later, he married his true love at St. Mark’s Catholic Church on October 22, 1966. In 2016, they celebrated the gift of 50 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with three beautiful children.
Some of Terry’s hobbies included traveling, camping, cooking, fishing, deer camp, making memories at his second home in Shawano, WI and spending time with family and friends.
Terry lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by his unwavering love for his family and deep kindness towards others. He will be forever missed by his children, Laura Spiegelhoff, Matthew (Susanne) Nighbert, and Beth (Sean) Dillon; grandchildren, Erin and Megan Dillon, Sarah and Becca Spiegelhoff, and Cassandra Nighbert; brother, Michael Nighbert; brothers-in-law, Michael Gaffney, Thomas Gaffney; and sister-in-law, Patricia (Roger) Yule. His family was the center of his life, and he took great joy in sharing in their milestones and achievements.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Nighbert; two sons in infancy, Edward Allen and Daniel Joseph; sisters-in-law, Linda Nighbert, Lin Gaffney, Marcia Gaffney; and in-laws J. Thomas and Margaret Gaffney.

SERVICE LOCATION Piasecki Funeral Home
A visitation for Terry will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of a brief prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI.
Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
