Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintSusan J. Griebel, age 64 of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at United Hospital Systems-St. Catherine’s Hospital Campus.
Born in Racine on April 24, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Allan F. and Marguerite (Murphy) Healy. She was a graduate of Horlick High School and continued her education at Gateway Technical College where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate. Sue moved to Kenosha in 1981.
On October 11, 1983 in St. Augustine, FL, she was united in marriage to Delmar F. Griebel, Jr. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2002.
She was employed as a licensed practical nurse with Children’s Health Center in Gurnee, IL. Previously, she was employed with the Blood Center of Southeast Wisconsin. Sue also was president and co-owner of American Telecommunication Corp. with her husband, Del.
Sue was the past President of the P.L.A.V. George Washington Chapter 34 Ladies Auxiliary on a national, state and local level. She was also a life member of the V.F.W. Post #1865 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her aunt, Patricia Murphy; many cousins; four step-children; nine step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and many loyal and close friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son; and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
A special thank you to the ICU nursing staff at St. Catherine’s Hospital and to Dr. Shepler, Dr. Ahuja, and Dr. Bloom for their kind and compassionate care of Susan.
Service Date August 26, 2016
A memorial service honoring Sue’s life will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7300 39th Ave. Private inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Racine.
