Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintIn loving memory, we mourn the passing of Stephen Anthony Sturycz. On Thursday, August 17, 2017, with his family close by his side, he journeyed to Heaven to be with God and all of the loved ones who have gone before him.
Stephen, the oldest of 12 children born to the late Joseph C. and Marie L. (Conklin) Sturycz, was born on November 21, 1940, in Kenosha.
He attended St. Casimir Grade School and graduated from St. Bonaventure Minor Seminary and High School in Sturtevant, WI. Steve served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard for several years, being honorably discharged in 1967.
He worked at Ladish/Tri-Clover (Alfa-Laval) for 40 years, he retired in 2000.
It was during these years that Steve developed the life traits of creativity, loyalty and humility which served him well in his work and family life – Working on creative projects alongside his brothers and sons. Gardening and sharing the fruits of his labors were some of his happiest moments. Steve’s family was the most important thing for him. Steve’s favorite family traditions were making Easter Frittata omelets with his sons on Good Friday and playing Santa Claus passing out gifts to his children and nieces and nephews. This was carried through in later years with the Grandchildren he loved so much and the dollar gifts to each on every visit. But, telling a joke to a friend or relative was a joy to him beyond compare. Steve loved laughter.
In 1963, Steve was married to Petronella Matranga with whom he had four sons. They were later divorced. In 1985, Stephen was united in marriage to Linda Siemion.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda; three sons, Jeffrey Sturycz, Stephen (Karla)Sturycz, Jr. and Nicholas (Giulia) Sturycz; 12 grandchildren, Megan (Theo) Marshall, Lauren, Alexandra, Ashley, Melissa, Jarod, Stefano, Bridgette, Kaitlin, Enzo, Sophia and Stevie Grace; and one great-grandchild, Brailyn Anthony; and 11 siblings, Therese (Terrence) Constant, Joan Sturycz, Barbara (Edward) Janusiak, Helen (Daniel) Henderson, Mary (Louis) Giacomin, Thomas (Deborah) Sturycz, Paul Sturycz, Joseph D. (Kathleen) Sturycz, Alicia Simpson, Mark (Shannon) Sturycz and Philip (Heidi) Sturycz.
He is further survived by many nieces and nephews; two Aunts; two Uncles and many cousins.
Along with his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his son, Michael B. Sturycz and brother-in-law, John Simpson.
In accordance with Stephen’s wishes, services were held privately at All Saints Cemetery.
