She was born on May 15, 1922, to the late John and Amelia (Manzekowitz) Panasewicz.
On June 3, 1944 Sophie was united in marriage to Calix Zebrowski. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 17, 2012.
Throughout Sophie’s life she held various jobs. The job that she loved the most was being a crossing guard for the city of Kenosha and taking care of the children she crossed on their way to school. Prior to that she had worked at various pharmacies in Kenosha and in her earlier life, she worked at Simmons Company and Nash motors.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and The Moose Lodge #155
Sophie loved to crochet and had a passion for reading mysteries and romance novels. She enjoyed playing bingo with her lady friends at the Moose Club.
She leaves behind her son, David (Barbara) Zebrowski, her grandchildren, David (Chrissy) Zebrowski jr., Carolyn (Jeremy) Ruby, Danielle Zebrowski and Christine (Ryan) Walentowski; her great grandchildren, Chance, Carson, Lily, Siri, Chrysta, Nika, Savannah, Ryder and Lucas.
In addition to her parents, daughter Karen and husband Calix, Sophie was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Panasewicz and her sisters, Irene Hibbard and Jeanette Statema.
Funeral services honoring Sophie’s life was held privately.
