Born on June 13, 1939 in Raymond, WI to the late Victor and Donette (Meissner) Geissner. Shirley attended local schools, graduated from Racine Lutheran High School and Kenosha Vocational School of Nursing.
On January 11, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Caledonia, WI Shirley was united in marriage to Keith Mentink.
Shirley was employed as a nurse at Sheridan Nursing Home and for Dr. Seigel, in his practice.
She was a member of New Life Central Church and volunteered at ARC.
Shirley loved to go to auction sales and collecting antiques, especially cookie jars and hull pottery. She loved going up north and decorating the house with anything pinecones and spending time with her neighbors on the lake. She also loved attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events, watching the Brewers, attending many games over the years, including the 1982 World Series.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Cynthia (Tim) Anderson of Antioch, IL Amy (Michael) Slechta of Burlington, WI and Andrew Mentink of Kenosha; her grandchildren, Mackenzie (Nate) Anderson, Cameron Anderson, Nicholas Slechta and Zachary Slechta; her sisters, Donna (Earl) Zemke, Janice Aiello and Lois (Ed) Engel; her brother, James (Kathy) Geissner; her brother-in-law, Craig (Mary) Mentink and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Keith, Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Denoto and Sandra Geissner; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Mentink and Kathy Mentink-Gibson; her brothers-in-law, Cas Denoto, Frank Aiello and Daniel Mentink and her adopted son, Allen Bullamore.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and Harvest Home Assisted Living for the special care that Shirley received.

SERVICE LOCATION New Life Central Church
Funeral services honoring Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at New Life Central Church, 5927 37th Ave.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
