Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintShirley Jean Buckner, age 83, formerly of Kenosha, died on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas after a brief illness.
Born in Kenosha on July 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Usinger) Legler. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford.
Shirley married Frank Bunker, Jr and later divorced. She was a secretary at Chrysler for 35 years.
An advocate for animals, Shirley ran and directed an animal rescue lifeline.
Left to cherish Shirley’s memory is her son, Randall Buckner along with two sisters, Doris Kitchens and Lillian Lichtwalt.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Legler and her brother, Edward Legler, Jr.
Service Date October 6, 2018
Funeral Services honoring Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12 Noon at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI, 53144. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
