She was born in Kenosha on February 2, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Carl W. and Ora P. (Kelley) Huxhold. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On April 1st, 1984, in Las Vegas, she was united in marriage to John Edward Aldred, Sr. After 33 years of marriage, sadly, John preceded her in death on January 4, 2018.
Shirley was employed as a medical receptionist for ten years and as a typist and assistant secretary at the Kenosha News.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Shirley had a love of all animals; especially felines. She was a member of the Humane Society of the U.S., Best Friends, Alley Cats, ASPC, Kindred Kitties, PETA and many others. Her beloved “Sambo” brought her great joy.
She enjoyed reading, painting and traveling.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Robin (Jerry) Hove, Jodi Page and Cindy Thommes; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth W. Huxhold and Ernest M. Huxhold.
Along with her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by two brothers, August “Gene” and Howard Huxhold; and her sisters, Carol M. Leskowicz, Elsie Jane Jecevicus and Ora Louise Fraizer.
In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, private funeral services will be held.
