Born in Kenosha on February 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Bruenning) Bitter. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
Shirley was employed with AMC/Chrysler Corporation for 20 years. She retired in 1988 from Dept. # 825/final assembly.
She was a member of Antioch Women of the Moose Chapter #735 and Lubeno-Patrick VFW Post #8373 Auxiliary of Salem-Paddock Lake. Shirley was an avid doll collector and crafter of jewelry and yarn hangers. She liked to cook, bake, sew, and play bingo and cards. Above all, Shirley loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan McIntyre of Salem and Kayla Wightman of Wheatland; her brother, William (Fay) Bitter of Kenosha; her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Last of Kenosha; her granddaughter, Rebecca McIntyre; her great granddaughter, Danielle Lyn McIntyre; and her former husband, Dale McIntyre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel McIntyre; a brother, John Bitter; and a sister, Patricia Bitter.

Service Date October 2, 2014
A Memorial Service in celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Private inurnment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
