She was born in Chicago, IL. on December 18, 1941. Sharon was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mildred (Redmond) Anderson.
Sharon attended local schools in Chicago and graduated from the Illinois School for the Deaf in 1961.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Deaf-Mute Congregation of our Savior, where she was baptized and confirmed.
Sharon belonged to the Northeastern Illinois Deaf Club and was the treasurer for many years.
She had formerly worked for Sunbeam Electronics (1975-1981) and at Wilmot Mountain (1981-1984). She also worked at Royal Terrace Nursing Home (1985-1988) where she taught the residents sign language.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Conrad (Ethel) Marvitz Jr., and Andrew Joseph (Sarah) Marvitz; her grandchildren, Jennifer Marvitz, Conrad Marvitz III, Wesley Heyrosa, Roshan Heyrosa, Cassie Marvitz, Luke Marvitz, Zach Hostelton, Andrew Marvitz Jr., Elizabeth Marvitz, Gage Conant, Caleigh Conant and Carol Conant; her great-grandchildren, Aria Marvitz, Ryland Hostelton and Mika Ghandi; her nephews, Fred Anderson and Chris Anderson and many other friends and extended family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mildred Anderson; her daughter, Laureen Dawn Alderman and her brother, Fred Anderson.
Service Date August 7, 2023
Memorial services honoring Sharon’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at the apartment where she lived, in the day room.
