A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Sandy was born on August 26, 1950 to the late Earl and Dorothy (Bishop) Bauers. She attended local schools and graduated from Tremper High School in 1968.
Upon graduation Sandy worked at G. LeBlanc Corporation, Arneson Foundry, and as a payroll analyst at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago until retiring in 2001.
Among her many pastimes Sandy most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, bird watching, antiquing, reading and watching the Green Bay Packers. She loved traveling with her friends and family and had the opportunity to visit many places throughout the U.S., China, and Costa Rica. Sandy had a keen interest in history and in recent years she found great pleasure volunteering at the Kenosha History Center.
She is survived by her children, Heather (Jim) Pigott and Amy (Phil) Ksiezak; five grandchildren; her brother, Terry (Cveta) Bauers; her sister, Debbie (Gary) Schnaufer; six nieces, and many special friends and neighbors.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Neil Shepler, the caring nurses at Hospice Alliance, Inc./Hospice House, the wonderful women of the St. Catherine’s Infusion Lab and the medical teams at both campuses of Froedtert South Hospitals, for the loving care they provided.
