Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintSally J. Jessen, age 81, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Hospice Alliance House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on May 29, 1934, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Williams) Shankland. She attended local schools, was a graduate of Kenosha High School and also received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s College in Milwaukee.
On April 14, 1956, she was united in marriage to Paul F. Jessen. They were blessed with four children and 50 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 27, 2006.
For 10 years, Sally was employed as a registered nurse with Brookside Care Center, retiring in 1997. Prior to her employment with Brookside, she was a nurse with Kenosha Memorial Hospital for 35 years.
Sally was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. She also loved to travel, play bingo, crochet and hand needle work.
She will be deeply missed by her four children, Susan (Keith) Martin, Sharon (Joseph) Martinelli, James and John (Marilyn) Jessen; her sister, Joan Ruchti; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Sally is further survived by her beloved Chihuahua, “Mugsy”.
Service Date February 26, 2016
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 74th St. and Sheridan Road. Private entombment will be held in All Saints Mausoleum.
