He was born on April 9, 1935. He was the son of the late Rudolph R. and Stella (Kline) Baker Sr and was a graduate of Park High School.
On October 19, 1957, he was united in marriage to the one and only Athena Duncan at St. Edward Catholic Church.
Rudy is a proud Veteran serving his country in the United States Army.
He was the proud owner of the Elmwood Restaurant for over 30 years followed by a Deli in Sturtevant.
Rudy lived for the outdoors and was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. For a time he played a solid second baseman for the Mississippi Mud Hens.
Survivors include son, Daniel Baker; grandchildren, Rudy Steinhoff and Kayla Baker; his “Little Girl” Savannah Lee Steinhoff and will be dearly missed by his best four-legged companion, Rosie.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Athena (Duncan) Baker; son, James A. Baker and daughter, Linda M. Baker.
Memorial services honoring Rudolph’s life will be held at a later date.
