Rose was born in Kenosha on January 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Sam and Michelena (Lea) Santapaolo.
On August 16, 1947, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Peter A. Zappa. He preceded her in death on December12, 1996.
Left to carry on her legacy are her daughter, Rosemary (John) Ficcadenti; and her three grandsons, Rick (Shelly Poland) Zappa, John (Joanna DeBartolo) Ficcadenti, and Tom Ficcadenti. She is further survived by her two great- grandchildren, Jake (Heather) Zappa, and Ashley Zappa, and her great great-grandson, Isaiah. She will be greatly missed by the many lives she nourished both physically and emotionally as they gathered around her table every Sunday afternoon. Her memory, wisdom and advice will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Thomas; her husband, and her four siblings, Minnie Zizzo, Tony Santapaolo, Mary Combs, and Frank Santapaolo.
In accordance with Rose’s wishes, her funeral services were held privately. She was laid to rest next to her husband at St. George Cemetery.
