Born on May 22, 1951 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late John and Marion (Grube) Doherty. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and earned his associates degree in electronics from Gateway Technical College.
Throughout the years, Robert worked in machine repair at AMC/Chrysler, and Caterpillar.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed bird watching. He loved his annual vacations to Boot Lake with family and friends along with water skiing, camping and general mischief. Robert was known for telling the world’s worst “Dad” jokes.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sean (Christina) Doherty, Steven (Kriz) Doherty and Justin Doherty; his grandchildren, Christopher, Brendon, Kaitlyn, Tinley and Brysen; his brothers, John Michael “Mike” Doherty and Kevin (Laurie) Doherty and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, James (Pat) Doherty, and his sister-in-law, Carol (Gonnering) Doherty.
Service Date January 23, 2022
Memorial service honoring Robert’s life will be held privately.
The service may be viewed via livestream on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. on the following link facebook.com/PiaseckiFuneralHome/live/. You do not need Facebook to watch.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances made to Safe Harbor Humane Society www.safeharborhumanesociety.org would be appreciated.
