Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintRobert “Bob” Lee Peterson, age 91, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Born on February 23, 1937 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Martin and Gladys (Olson) Peterson.
Growing up attending local schools, he was a graduate of Chicago Christian High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
On July 17, 1954, he was united in marriage to Doris Winnie in Chicago. Their union was blessed with more than 67 years of marriage before Doris’s passing in January of 2022. Before moving to Kenosha, Bob and Doris lived in Oak Lawn, IL for 20 years and in Upper St. Clair, PA for 40 years.
Throughout the years, Bob did electromotive work for Diesel Train Manufacturing, held a management position at Booze Allen, worked for Hamilton Consultants, worked for and retired from Rockwell International (formerly Meeley-Goss-Dexter).
As a young man he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, and spent 3 summers working at Williams Bay Bible Camp. Bob was involved with many groups and projects at their church and enjoyed singing in their choir. He liked woodworking, traveling with Doris and their friends in the U.S. and internationally, helping with projects at home and the homes of his children and their families, and loved visiting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his 5 beloved children, Leanne (Dan) Bilhorn, Cynthia (Jeff) Cederlind, Carey (Bob) Gordon, Bryan (Laura) Peterson, and Julie (Mike) Rodriguez; his grandchildren, Nathan (Jillian) Bilhorn, Lindsay (Nathan) Bishop, Justin (Corene) Bilhorn, Jonathan Bilhorn, Mark (Allison) Cederlind, Derek Cederlind, Kyle (Yvette) Cederlind, Ike Gordon, Lissi Gordon, Rachel (Andrew) Cohen, Austin Peterson, Emma Peterson, Eli Rodriguez; his great-grandchildren, Amelia Snyder-Cederlind, Houlden Cederlind, Bowen Cederlind, Barrett Cederlind, Mildred Cederlind, Graham Cohen, Alexandra Van Deursen, Brecken Bilhorn, Grayson Bilhorn, Maggie Bilhorn, Lina Bishop, Lainey Bishop, Lily Bishop, Cashton Bilhorn, Collins Bilhorn, Cohen Bilhorn; his sisters, Patricia (Keith) Palm and Donna Peterson; his nephew, Kevin (Betsy) Palm; his niece, Kristin (Scott) Livermore.
In addition to his wife, Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Gladys Peterson.
Service Date November 26, 2022
Funeral services honoring Robert’s life will be held privately.
