Born in Kenosha on August 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mildred (Burg) Zuzinec. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended local schools.
After graduating high school, Bob enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, serving from October of 1956 until his honorable discharge in October of 1960.
On February 5, 1966, he was united in marriage to Donette E. Pooch at St. George Catholic Church. They were blessed with seven children and recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Bob spent 27 years protecting our community as a fire fighter for the City of Kenosha, retiring as an apparatus operator in 1990. Following his retirement, he was employed with the Kenosha News in the maintenance department.
His true passion was golfing but when he wasn’t on the golf course, he took every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren. For many years, Bob and Donette spent time every year at their timeshare in Mexico.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Donette; their six children, Phillip, Meg (Craig) Hart, Robert Jr., Paul (Albie), Betsy (Jeff) Crabtree and Rachel (Chris) Knitter; two brothers, Ray (Pat) and Ralph (Pat) Zuzinec; his sister, Patricia Zuzinec and 16 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Becky Stiles; a brother, Jerry Zuzinec and a grandson, Ronnie Hart.
