He was born on July 21, 1925 in Kenosha and was the son of James and Margaret (Jungwirth) Spence. Robert graduated from Gibralter High School in Fish Creek, WI, and served in the Army in WWII with the 10th Mountain in Italy.
He married Angeline “Angie” Iaquinta on April 3, 1948 in Kenosha, WI.
Robert worked as a layout inspector for American Motors/Chrysler.
Robert, was a quiet man, but always had a playful glint in his eyes. His family and friends were very important to him.
He is survived by his children, Ken Spence and Karyn (David Jones) Spence; and his granddaughters, Julie and Nicole Spence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Spence; his two children, Bobby and Lisa Jean; and his siblings, Marjorie Zakrzewski and Charles Spence.
A memorial service in celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Inurnment will follow in St. George Cemetery.
