Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintRobert H. Stukel, age 85 of Kenosha died on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at United Hospital Systems – St. Catherine’s Campus.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on August 14, 1929 and was the son of the late Matthew and Frances (Novak) Stukel. He attended Kenosha schools and was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School in Racine.
He served our country in the U.S. Air Force as Sergeant in WWII from October, 1946 through August, 1949 and in the Korean Conflict from October, 1950 through October, 1951.
On March 12, 1955 at the First Congregational Church in Kenosha, he was united in marriage to Constance M. Bailey.
From 1954 until his retirement in May of 1986, Bob was employed with the Great Lakes Supply Office.
Bob was an active member of the American Legion Paul Herrick Post #21 in Kenosha for over 60 years, serving as the Post’s Past Commander. He was also a member of Past Commanders Club of Wisconsin, Forty et Eight, Voiture Locale 410 for over 50 years where he had served as the Past Grand Chef de Gare of Wisconsin.
Additionally, Bob belonged to the A.M.V.E.T.S, the Danish Brotherhood Lodge #14, the American Association of Active Retired Federal Employees, Mended Hearts, and the Senior Citizens Council. He was a proud volunteer with many programs through the RSVP and several veterans organizations in Kenosha.
In his limited spare time, he enjoyed camping, cruising, traveling throughout the US, playing cards with friends, and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Connie Stukel; his three loving nieces, Roberta (William) Young, Annette Stukel, and Elizabeth (Pat) Hamm, and his nephew, Thomas (Jean) Stukel.
Bob was preceded in death by his father on January 15, 1980, his mother on December 24, 1991 and his brother, Clarence Stukel on October 1, 1999.

Service Date November 3, 2014
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
