He was born in Dodgeville, WI on June 12, 1940, a son of the late Francis and Florence (Morey) Rasmussen.
The family moved to LaCrosse when Bob was a child. He attended schools in LaCrosse and was a graduate of Logan High School. He furthered his education with an Apprenticeship in welding.
On August 15, 1959, in LaCrosse, Bob was united in marriage to Nancy G. Wuttke.
He was employed for over 30 years with Nash/ AMC in the Tool Room as a Welder. He will long be remembered as the “welder with the red polka dot hat”. While at AMC, he also was a welding instructor at Gateway Technical College.
By far, the greatest joy in Bob’s life was his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love and skill as a gardener, playing euchre with family and friends, his love of traveling and his many trips to the casino.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy: his four children, Michael Robert Rasmussen, Susan (David) Ruby, and twins, Barbara (David) Gerou and Steven (Sue) Rasmuusen. He will forever be missed by his six grandchildren, Kaley Rae Gerou, Joshua Martin Ruby, Trevor James Rasmussen, Megan Rose Gerou, Savannah Nicole Gerou, Jared Thomas Rasmussen, and a great grandchild on the way. He is further survived by his brother, William Fred Rasmussen.

Funeral services honoring the life of Bob will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720-39th Avenue, Kenosha, WI.
