Born on March 6, 1943 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Christina (Ferraro) Tarsitano.
Rita was educated in the schools of Kenosha and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
She was employed as the Head Cashier at the Kohl’s Food Store, mostly at the Pershing Blvd. location for thirty two years, retiring in 2001. Following her Kohl’s career, Rita worked as a part time receptionist at The Hair Co.
Rita was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She always enjoyed the weekly Packer game parties, excelled at cooking and baking her Italian specialties, and traveling with family and friends. Rita’s most precious moments were those she shared with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Debbie (Douglas) Martin, Denise (Greg) Jalensky, and Dena (Kurt) Kramer; seven grandchildren, Katie ( Kevin) Fisher, Tommi (Josh Griffin) Reidenbach, Nick Jalensky, Karlie Barnes, Zach Kramer, Ben Jalensky, and Devon Kramer; three step grandchildren, Chelsea, Katie, and Daniel Martin; her step great granddaughter, Arielle; and her five faithful grand dogs.
Rita is further survived by her two sisters, Amelia (Bill) Michel and Josephine Pavlovich, and her brother, Alex (Kathy) Tarsitano.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Tarsitano, and her son in law, Gary Barnes.

Service Date November 17, 2014
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 beginning with a prayer service at 9:15 a.m. from the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720-39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street.
