He was born in Kenosha on January 17, 1931, a son of the late Sisto and Elvira (Rossi) DiCastri.
Dick met a beautiful lady, Marjorie J. Schuette, one night at a dance at the Eagles Club. Together, they danced away many evenings and fell in love. On August 10, 1950, they were united in marriage and they have “cut a rug” together for almost 65 years.
He retired as an International Engineer with Jeep Corp., Toledo, OH. He previously held various positions with AMC and Chrysler Corporation.
He was a member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, where he and his wife still danced on most Friday evenings. Dick was a member of the Musical Box Society International and was one of the few people in the world who restore antique music boxes to their former glory. During his life, he enjoyed playing his music boxes, golfing, playing pool, watching sports and educational programming, and spending time with his beloved Margie. Dick loved to lend a helping hand, and he eagerly offered his considerable expertise and skill to his family and friends who needed help with home projects and repairs.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; his children, Janise “Jay” (Charles) Labedz, Karyn Glasz; and his four grandchildren, Janise, David, Steven, and Oona.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas DiCastri; five brothers, James, Albert, Peter, Louis and Anthony DiCastri; and a sister, Rose Albanito.
