Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintWith hope in the resurrection, we commend to the Lord Reverend Bronislaw Bruno Slodowski, who died on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the age of 74.
Born on January 16, 1944 in Proszowice, Poland, Father Slodowski was ordained to the priesthood on June 12, 1968 for the Diocese of Kielce in Poland where he served prior to his emigrating to the United State in 1977. He became a United States citizen on July 10, 1984, and was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on March 7, 1991.
Father Slodowski was in residence and served as a help out priest at St. Casmir, Ss. Cyril and Methodius and Our Lady Queen of Peace Parishes, Milwaukee, before being appointed on March 7, 1991 as the associate pastor at Our Lady Queen of Peace. He began a study leave on July 1, 1992, and was appointed the chaplain for St. Joseph Home for the Aged in Kenosha, on March 11, 1997. Father retired from active ministry on October 31, 2010. He continued to say masses at several churches in Kenosha, Racine and Wisconsin Dells.
Father Slodowski will be remembered for his joyful and spiritual demeanor and his love of prayer and song.
He is survived by his two sisters, Maria Bogun and Zofia Slodowski Hajduk; his two brothers, Wojciech Slodowski and Mieczyslaw Slodowski; and several nieces and nephews.
Father was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Witold Slodowski.
Service Date January 15, 2019
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2224 30th Avenue. The Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki, Archbishop of Milwaukee, will preside. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha.
