Born on July 27, 1918 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Harold and Hattie (Weinholz) Fobert. He honorably served in the United States Army during WWII.
On October 18, 1948 in Waukegan, IL, he was married to Evelyn M. Malzahn. Sadly, after 62 years together, she preceded him in death on January 18, 2011.
For over 50 years, Raymond owned and operated the family business, Holtz Heating. He was a heating and cooling expert who enjoyed working with sheet metal.
He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Raymond was a 32nd Degree Mason and very active in the Masonic Lodge #47 F&AM and Sunrise Lodge #359. He was also a member of the Tripoli Shrine of Kenosha and Kenosha Commandery.
Raymond loved to fish and enjoyed spending time at his family home on Big Bearskin Lake.
Raymond is survived by his son, Ray Holtz, Jr.; his daughter, Kathy (Joe) Lusiak, four grandsons, Darrell Holtz, James (Lisa), Paul (Katherine) and Christopher (Stephanie) Lusiak; eight great grandchildren; and his dear friend, Ewald Brandes.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
