Met Randy in 1965 as a Freshman at Holy Name Seminary. Randy and I were classmates till graduation in 1969..of course we were model students never thinking of getting in trouble. Our Sophomore or Junior year while visiting Hillsdale Shopping center somehow we got stopped by the police they thought that we were going to fast because of Christmas shoppers, they asked us if we had been drinking and we had to remind the Officer that we were from the Seminary and that we were not old enough to drink. The Officer asked why we had 3 bottles of wine in our car and we explained that Randy’s Mom gave us the wine so we could give it to our great Priest for Christmas gifts. The Police said good boys you are always thinking of the Priest. Please slow down and we said yes sir and headed back to HNS. That is my story and I am sticking to that. JJ McCarthy RIP my friend

I am sorry for your family's loss, but I'm glad Randy is finally reunited with Sandy in heaven! I met Randy (and Sandy) at the sanctuary after the loss of my bird. I didn't want another bird yet, but wanted to spend time with birds. I found the sanctuary online and drove out one wintery January. It had been a difficult few months. I lost my grandfather, grandmother, and my bird all within 4 months. Randy and Sandy were nothing but welcoming and understanding! I felt so at home and at peace here. I have worked out of the area for a whole and haven't been able to get to the sanctuary or to see Randy for a while. He was always generous, friendly, and had time to listen and spare. I am so grateful I got to know him! He and Sandy have both been a big influence on my life. I'm glad I know he is now renuited with Sandy! Lots of love!
