Born in Cardwell, Missouri, on October 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Zelma (Dunigan) Harper.
On July 2, 1951 she married Efton “Dutch” Edwards. They were blessed with a loving daughter and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. They moved from Aurora, IL and made Kenosha their home in 2006.
Rae began her career with Illinois Bell and AT&T as a telephone operator. After 33 years of service, she retired as a manager in 1989.
She was a member of the Zion Church of Christ. Rae was happy to spend time doing just about anything with her family, but mostly enjoyed nights playing cards and taking family vacations.
Rae is survived by her husband, Dutch; her daughter, Teresa (Keith) Riecke and her six grandchildren, Scott (Nicole) Logan of Bowling Green Kentucky, Crystal (Shannon) Schladweiler of St. Louis, MO, Tonia Logan of Montgomery, Il, Tony Logan of Kenosha, Shawna Riecke of Pleasant Prairie and JoAnna (Arthur) West of Pleasant Prairie along with 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Along with her parents, Rae was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Harper.
Service Date September 2, 2016
Funeral Services honoring the life of Rae will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720-39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Interment will take place on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
