Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintPeter S. Ritacca, age 66 of Kenosha, died at his home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on April 21, 1949 and was the son of the late Peter and Katherine (Cerminara) Ritacca.
Peter served in the U.S. Navy from January 28, 1969 until his honorable discharge on January 21, 1971. He was honored to have been a part of a 2014 Honor Flight that was sponsored by Snap-On Tool Corporation.
On October 12, 1973 in Kenosha he was united in marriage to Joyce Freitag.
He began his working career with Dutch Maid. For 33 years, Peter was employed as a machinist with OMC/Johnson Motors. After Johnson Motors, he was employed with Snap-On Tools for 13 years, retiring in 2012.
Peter was an avid bow hunter, Packer fan and a Green Bay Packer Shareholder. He was a fantastic chef, decent golfer, good gambler and liked vegetable gardening. His biggest love in life was spending special time and babysitting his beautiful granddaughter, Kara.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Ritacca; his son, Peter J. Ritacca; his daughter, Lori (Joe) Perotto; his adoring granddaughter, Kara Perotto; his two sisters, Deborah Ritacca Glassman and Karen Ritacca; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Ritacca Laudato; and his mother and father-in-law, Lyle and Lorraine Freitag.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Alliance, Inc., for the exceptional care they provided.
Service Date December 26, 2015
A Memorial Service in celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.
