Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintPeter A. Dondlinger, age 86, currently of Sun City, AZ, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at United Hospital System – Kenosha Hospital Campus.
Born in Minnieska, MN on December 10, 1928, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Nepper) Dondlinger. He moved from MN to Waukegan in 1947.
Peter was drafted during the Korean War and honorably served our country as Corporal in the U.S. Army. He was in the First Armored Division as a tank driver.
On August 13, 1955 at Mother of God Church, Waukegan, he was united in marriage to his beautiful bride, Carol Borg.
For 35 years, Peter was an experienced carpenter working for various contractors throughout the area. After retirement, in 1986 Peter and his wife Carol moved to Arizona. He co-owned and operated with his son, Tim O’BA Cleaners in Arizona.
Peter was a member of the Moose Club in Zion, IL and AZ. He liked to hunt; especially deer hunting in Jake’s Coulee. Peter enjoyed watching a good boxing match, NASCAR with Jeff Gordon as his favorite driver and his daughter Cindi’s softball games. Close to 60 years, Peter and his bride, Carol loved to spend time playing cribbage and euchre as well as traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Dondlinger; his two children, Tim Dondlinger of Phoenix, AZ and Cindi (Colleen) Dondlinger of Kenosha; his sister, Mary Floersch; his many loving nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law, Lois Dondlinger; and his “Four Legged Girls”, Morgan and Ella.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Edward; and three brothers, Nicholas, Edward and Gene Dondlinger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Third Floor Staff at United Hospital System – Kenosha Hospital Campus for the exceptional care they provided.
A memorial service in celebration of Peter’s life will be held at a later date.
