Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintNorbert LeMay, 76, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on July 9th, 1937 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Leonard and Eunice (Witt) LeMay.
Norbert “Norb” grew up in Superior, WI and Kenosha, WI, attending Friedens Lutheran School & Mary D. Bradford High School. Norbert left school in 1956 to start an automotive repair shop with his father. He worked at TriClover in the mornings and the repair shop in the evenings while the business was being established. The repair shop later became Leonard LeMay and Son’s GMC. They also sold and serviced Holiday Rambler trailers and Lund boats and in 1982 received the Pontiac franchise. In 1989 Norbert sold his shares of Leonard LeMay and Son’s to his brothers and worked at Fred Jones Pontiac/GMC in Brookfield Wisconsin from 1989 until 1991. In 1991 he went to work for Roger Palmen Chevrolet as the General Manager where he stayed until his retirement in 2003.
Norbert married Elaine Ziesemer on May 9, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha. They were two happily married best friends for 55 years. Norbert attended Trinity Lutheran church in Kenosha, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Crandon, and Zion Lutheran Church in Alamo, Texas. Norbert enjoyed golfing, fishing, and cooking for family and friends at “Norb’s Diner”. Norbert loved serving others and would often cook for nearly 200 people at the Alamo Country Club’s Men’s club. Norbert was an outstanding salesman, winning GM’s Master Salesman award numerous times. He won many other sales contests with trips to exotic locations like Hawaii, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Disneyland and Amsterdam. Norbert enjoyed his retirement life with Elaine by spending winters at the Alamo Country Club in Alamo Texas and summers at his cabin in Crandon Wisconsin.
Norbert is survived by his wife, Elaine of Crandon, WI/Alamo, TX ; his sons, Jeff (Stephanie) LeMay, Green Bay, WI; Doug (Margaret) LeMay Madison, WI ; Gary (Peggy) LeMay, Kenosha, WI and his daughter Michelle (Sean) Towle, Kenosha, WI; his brothers Merle (Mary Ellen) LeMay, Kenosha, WI; Larry LeMay, Holcombe, WI; Chuck (Lorna) LeMay, Kenosha, WI, and sister Bonnie (Fred) Mancusi, Neenah, WI; his grandchildren Sydney (Logan) McCoy, Kenosha, WI; Desirae LeMay, Milwaukee, WI; Tazia LeMay, Madison, WI; Spencer (Sarah) Towle, Kenosha, WI; Lauren Towle, Kenosha, WI; Izabel LeMay, Madison WI; Madeline LeMay, Madison, WI; Nathan LeMay, Green Bay, WI; Logan LeMay, Green Bay, WI; Peter Towle, Kenosha, WI; Tyler LeMay, Kenosha, WI; Jacob LeMay, Green Bay, WI; Rebecca Towle, Kenosha, WI; Elijah Towle Kenosha, WI; Ryan LeMay, Kenosha, WI, and Ava LeMay, Kenosha, WI; great grandchildren, Audrey McCoy and Liam McCoy, Kenosha, WI, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Norbert was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Beverly, Dale, Lyle, Roger LeMay and Mavis Jean Gulbransen.
