Nita M. Nelson, age 86, formerly of Kenosha, died on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Willowick Assisted Living Center in Clinton, WI.
Born in Booneville, MS on October 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Elihugh and Verner (Lester) Brown. Nita graduated from Burton High School in Burton, MS. She then moved to Kenosha.
On June 8, 1953, she married John C. Nelson. They made Kenosha their home where Nita was a loving homemaker for her husband and two sons. Sadly, after 64 years of marriage, John preceded her in death in January, 2018.
Nita was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Sewing, cooking, camping and fishing were activities Nita enjoyed.
Nita is survived by her son, Robert (Carrie) Nelson of Clinton, WI; 4 grandchildren, Dianna Nelson, Natalie (Leo) Alvarez, Johnathan (Alex) Nelson and Stephanie Nelson; 3 great grandchildren, Jase, Rylee and Tati along with her brother, Howard.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nita was preceded in death by a son, Terry in January, 1974; two sisters, Vernell and Rita; and a brother, Billy.
In accordance with Nita’s wishes, services will be held privately. Interment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
