Nickie was born in Kenosha on December 26, 1927, to the late Tom and Angelina (Curcio) Perri.
Nickie attended and graduated from the Wisconsin School for the Deaf (WSD) in Delavan. She was eternally grateful that her father insisted on sending her there for her schooling. It was at WSD that she met her husband, Keith Richardson. They were married on May 24, 1952, at St. James Catholic Church in Kenosha.
Nickie was formerly employed at Shady Lawn West Nursing Home and Shopko. She was a founding member of the Racine-Kenosha Club for the Deaf. In 1980 the Club honored Nickie and Keith as the Club’s Man and Woman of the Year. Nickie was also a member of the Wisconsin Association of the Deaf, the Southeast Wisconsin Deaf Senior Citizens and the International Catholic Deaf Association- Chapter 7.
She enjoyed traveling and for a number of years, Nickie and Keith wintered in California where they enjoyed the warm climate and made many friends. She enjoyed socializing, playing cards and in particular teasing and joking with friends and family. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan as well as for the Wisconsin Football and Basketball teams. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play basketball, volleyball and perform in plays.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Christine) and William (Elizabeth Mayer) and her three grandchildren, Elissa (Tim), Tyler and Amelia.
Nickie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith and her siblings, Frank Perri and Anne Roders.
