Nancy was born on May 10, 1942 in La Crosse, WI. She graduated from Milton College and went on to earn a B.S. in Nursing. She started her career as a Nurse and went on to work for Kenosha Memorial Hospital for many years.
Nancy married Robert Rasmussen on August 15, 1959. The couple had 4 children:
Michael Rasmussen and his children, Trevor and Jared and great grandchild, Skyler.
Susan (David) Ruby and their son Josh (Cassandra) Ruby.
Steve (Sue) Rasmussen.
Barbara (David) Gerou and their children, Kaley (Bruce Jr.) Marshall, Megan Gerou and Savannah Gerou and great grandchildren, Bruce Marshall III and Braelon Marshall.
Nancy was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition, she was a member of the National Button Society and volunteered for the local food pantry.
She was a stay-at-home mother until her children started school and that is when Nancy decided to go back to school for Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. Nancy was family focused and when she became a grandmother and great-grandmother, she was beyond delighted. Steve graduating from Annapolis Naval Academy as an Officer was a very proud moment for her. As well as going to Branson, MO with son, Mike to enjoy music shows. Her meeting Oprah Winfrey with her daughter, Barb, was a great highlight in her life.
She was best known for her extensive button collection featuring rare moon glow buttons from Europe. Nancy loved musicals that include Singing in the Rain, West Side Story, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, South Pacific, Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, the Sound of Music, and the King and I. She took her family to see Fiddler on the Roof live, loved to sing tunes around the house, and requested for her celebration happy songs that don’t sound like a church. Whenever Nancy would send out a greeting card it would always be hand made with rubber stamps and fancy creations she learned through her love of Art.
Nancy was a caring, intelligent and thoughtful person and would not let anyone hold her back from doing things she wanted to do. Nancy was never shy about giving advice and researched multiple topics and always seemed to have the latest info. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren which brought out the inner girl in her with giggles, singing and smiling. She saved all of their artwork and drawings to this day on her refrigerator. In her spare time, she loved making homemade crafts, greeting cards using rubber stamps, enjoying her morning breakfast with her husband Bob. Nancy was known to drink a pot of Kona a day and had a sweet tooth for baked goods and taught her children how to bake and get around the kitchen.
Both Nancy and Bob had green thumbs, that allowed them to grow the most beautiful and delicious raspberries, cucumbers, concord grapes, rhubarb and tomatoes. Nancy loved baking cakes and pies for her children. Rhubarb pie was the most frequently requested. Nancy’s favorite flower were tulips because they were the first flower to bloom in the Spring, she was passionate about her flower garden which also grew roses and lilies. They enjoyed taking trips to LaCrosse, WI to visit her parents, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rasmussen, and parents, Fred and Evelyn Wuttke.
She is also survived by her brother, Jim Wuttke.

A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI.
A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nancy’s name may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 8948 Watertown Plank Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53226, https://rmhc-easternWI.org are appreciated by the family.
