Myrtle Helena Meier of Kenosha passed from this life into Jesus’ loving arms at Brookdale of Kenosha on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
She was born on March 2, 1926 and baptized on March 21, 1926 in Arlington Heights, IL.
Myrtle grew up in Arlington Heights and was married to Elroy Meier on December 4, 1948. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Bristol, WI to farm and later enjoyed owning the Valley Restaurant in Bristol.
After retirement, Myrtle moved to Kenosha and enjoyed gardening, bowling, cards, wintering in Florida and spending time with family and friends.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Kevin (Amanda); her daughter, Debbie (Wayne); her son-in-law, Chris; three grandchildren, Mark (Bonnie), Ryan (Kelly), Brad (Sarah); six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy; her daughter, Bonnie and two sisters, Millie and Adeline.
Myrtle’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brookdale of Kenosha and Grace Hospice for the exceptional, loving and compassionate care they provided.
Service Date February 10, 2017
Funeral Services honoring Myrtle’s life will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2026 22nd Avenue. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
