I have always thought highly of Mike. He was a classmate and a friend for 50+ years. Although we did not see each other frequently, I considered Mike and Sue as good friends. He was an intelligent, kind, compassionate man with a good sense of humor. I will miss him more than I can say. The world will not be the same. His loss is felt deeply by all who knew him.

I was so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a very special person. We worked together for many years at Abbott. I always admired his wit, his calming influence and his willingness to help and to teach as he was helping. My sincere condolences to his entire family.

I worked with Mike at Abbott for 20 years . Mike always had a smile, laugh, and kind words for everyone he worked with and passed in the hallway. He was a joy to work with and an inspiration to all who had the privilege to do so. So very saddened by the loss of Mike and my deepest condolences to his family.

I was so very saddened to hear about the passing of Mike, a wonderful husband, father, and human being. I have fond memories of Mike from oh-so-many years ago in high school and more recently from our reunions in which he played an organizing role. Please accept my condolences for a life lost way too soon.

I had the privilege of working with Mike for over 15 years while at Abbott. I learned a great deal from him during that time and his constant drive to learn new things was so infectious and inspiring for all of us. There was always a piece about him even during the most stressful times at work and that was due to his strong faith and overall approach to life which we shared a number of times over the years. I am so sorry for your loss but please know that he touched so many lives in a such a strong and meaningful way over the years. God bless and rest in peace Mike.

I was truly saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Although I retired from Abbott in 2005 after only 27 years, I most certainly remember Mike. He was good-humored, truthful and understood how & where he made a difference on each project and initiative. If Mike was involved, problems were solved and deadlines were met. Even at Abbott, 46 years is a very LONG tenure and quite an accomplishment! My sincere condolences to Sue and the Childers' family. Karen
